My Writings

For many years, I convinced myself I didn’t have time to follow my passion for writing….

After selling my businesses and getting down to the business of doing what I love, I started writing again. I soon found that my pen began to have a mind of its own, bubbling out poetry and wisdom and even a full book! In 2013, I published a mystery called SILENT SKY, most of which I wrote at 3 am! Apparently that was the hour my muse flew by and brushed me with her wings.

Here is the cover blurb:

“Charged with defending a woman who has confessed to poisoning her famous televangelist husband, Seattle attorney, Reina Dessiner, soon finds herself battling for her own life, through the streets and skies of the Pacific Northwest. Enlisting the help of a quirky entourage of friends, Reina goes undercover into the multi-million dollar world of televangelism where she must take justice into her own hands in a race to save a modern-day savior.”

It is available on Amazon and at the link below:

(published under my married name: Cate Mighell)

I have also been published in various flying magazines, motorcycling news, and spiritual guides, such as The Elephant Journal and Rebelle

One of my loves is poetry (you can evoke so much with so few words!) and I have a computer full of it! I will publish it one day, or perhaps just surprise the world after my death, à la Emily Dickinson (with no attempt at comparison to this luminous poetess, other than the fact that her works were discovered posthumously).

My newest project, SOUL PRIMER, is a weekly spiritual guidebook, and will be available in the Fall of 2019.

Here is a little jewel I wrote years ago, that still needs to be heard today:

`

The Moon Rises

The moon rises in the east, as does our future-
Look to the east, western woman.
Look to the western woman, world!
Turn your back to the shadows and raise your hands
to the new day,
to a new way.
Let the old black robe on your soul fall back,
exposing light and cool air for a hot world.
Now.
Open your heart to the end of the old way-
and let it begin, with love.
